MY WEBSITE PRETENDS TO BE BILINGUAL: LOOK FOR THE BLUE TEXT IN ENGLISH!

De profesión, periodista. De vocación, viajero. Viajo y escribo porque hay personas y lugares que lo motivan. Las personas son, en primer lugar, aquellas que se esfuerzan y luchan a pesar de las condiciones terribles que enfrentan, las que no permiten que el mundo las aplaste. Quiero contar sus historias porque ellas nos dan ejemplo y ánimo a los demás. Los lugares están cerca y lejos, algunos contienen personas, otros están mucho mejor sin ellas, y en todos está la huella de lo que somos: desde los estromatolitos de Shark Bay, en Australia, hasta los templos de Angkor, en Camboya, con escala en el mundo encerrado de Ngorongoro, en Tanzania, y en los mercados de Oaxaca, México. De ellos quiero llevar la noticia a quienes no han ido, acaso querrán ir, acaso sentirán que mi trabajo los acercó a nuestro mundo.

My profession, journalist. My vocation, traveller. I travel and write because I’m motivated by people and places. The people who inspire me are, in the first place, those who try hard and struggle in despite of the terrible situations they are facing, those who won’t abandon themselves or be broken by the world. I want to tell their stories because they provide example and encouragement for the rest of us. The places are near and far, some of them contain people, others are better without them. In all of them lies the footprint of what we are: from Shark Bay’s stromatolites, in Australia, to the Angkor temples, in Cambodia, with stopovers in Ngorongoro’s locked-up world, in Tanzania, and Oaxaca’s markets, in Mexico. From them I want to bring stories to those who have never been there, but hopefully will be, or perhaps they will feel closer to our world helped by my work.

Además, me encanta la fotografía. Soy amateur, pero con mucho entusiasmo. Todavía estoy tratando de ordenar mis imágenes, pero por lo pronto por aquí puedes ver algo de lo que retraté en Asia, África, Oceanía y América (después pondré Europa también).

My main activity is writing. There’s is a chapter in an English language book coming, but so far, all my books are only in Spanish. Take a look on them, anyway: A similar thing happens with my shorter texts, though you might find some examples in English. Here you’ll find full text for some of my stories on political and social issues, and there’s also some travel writing in this corner. If you feel curious to know about the trips I’ve made, you’ll find the maps here.

Nonetheless, I love photography. I’m far from being a professional, but I’m an enthusiastic fan. I’m having a hard time trying to get my images in order, but meanwhile, I can show you some of my pics from Asia, Africa, Oceania and America (I’ll be adding Europe soon).
